The Fountain of Youth

As our school year came to an end, we’d been studying the history of Florida. Originally we were planning to head to the Colonial District in St. Augustine, but I read reviews for the Fountain of Youth and we decided to head there instead.

If any of you are local, and would like a fun, family day or need a school field trip day, check it out! The Fountain of Youth is located in St. Augustine, FL.

Not only did we get to drink the spring water of the fountain, but they also had actors in costume helping us understand what else was going on in Florida back then. They had a blacksmith actually working with a fire and anvil, a couple gentlemen explaining a cross bow and cannon, then they fired both for us. They had an early village all set up with huts of what they think were the original people of Florida - prior to Ponce De Leon’s arrival. So much to see and learn and beautiful peacocks everywhere.

It was a great way to wrap up our school year!

Hope you’re all doing well.

God bless you on your homeschool journey.
